Dimash Kudaibergen is a singer and songwriter from Kazakhstan and is a talented musician, able to play a range of instruments. He is famous for having an unusually wide vocal range and his ability to sing in more than fifteen languages. Dimash was born Dinmukhammed Kanatuly Kudaibergen in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan on the 24th of May, 1994.
His parents are Qanat Qūdaibergenūly Aitbaev and Svetlana Aitbaeva, both have strong musical backgrounds. Svetlana sings soprano for the Aktobe Philharmonic Society. As is Kazakh custom, Dimash was raised by his grandparents, who recognised his singing talent at a young age. Dimash has two siblings a brother named Mansur and a sister Raushan.
When he was only five years old, Dimash began taking vocal and piano lessons at the children’s section of the Akhmet Zhubanov Music College. He continued his training throughout his school years and eventually attended the music institute of K. Zhubanov University. He graduated in 2014 with a classical music degree centred on vocal ability. He continued his musical education by studying contemporary music Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana.
He successfully received a Master’s degree in Composition and was even recommended for the PhD program. Throughout his time at university, Dimash entered four major singing competitions in Kazakhstan. He won the National Zhas Kanat Contest with a perfect score of 180 out of 180, which was unprecedented in the competition’s history. In December 2014, he was awarded a laureate of the State Youth Prize Daryn.
Dimash’s popularity swelled across former Soviet countries when he won the Grand Prix of Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, Belarus. In 2015 and 2016, he toured his home country as well as Europe and Asia. The tour was called Unforgettable Day, and he released a song of the same name.
In 2017 he entered one of China’s biggest singing competitions, called I Am A Singer. At only 22, he was the youngest competitor in the show’s history. He went head to head with the highest-selling singers from across China. He won episodes 1,2, and 6 and ultimately finished as runner up. He played shows across China following the show, and his popularity continued to build. In 2019, he joined the judges’ panel in another Chinese singing competition Super Vocal.
He released his first album in China the same year, and it went platinum in thirty-seven seconds! Dimash has released a total of 23 songs and has sung in twelve different languages. He has sung in Kazakh, Russian, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Turkish, Serbian and Mandarin. He performed on the American singing show The World’s Best. He was introduced as “The Six Octave Man.” even though he scored extremely well, Dimash voluntarily left the show during the semi-finals and said he wanted to leave the competition to younger singers.
Dimash currently has an online show as well as a massive online following. His YouTube channel has 1.88 million subscribers and 3.7 million followers on Instagram. That’s why his net worth is estimated at $2 million. Less is known about Dimash’s personal life. He is definitely not married, and he has no children. He has had one previous relationship with Nursaule Ambakirova. However, he is likely still working hard on his career, and there will be plenty of time for a family in the future.
