A recent image that has garnered a lot of attention shows that fiery Representative Lauren Boebert has been hiding a sizable stomach tattoo that extends from her pelvis to her ribs.
The unexpected photo, which displays the Republican congresswoman’s understated tattoos, was posted on social media by Rep. Matt Gaetz’s wife, Ginger Gaetz.
Ginger Gaetz shared the provocative bikini picture on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday in an effort to encourage Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, who experienced a similar viral moment when old pictures of herself appeared on the internet.
Gaetz included a bikini emoji along with the caption, “We love confident, healthy, patriotic women like Lauren,” in her post.
Boebert, 37, is shown in the picture grinning while standing on the West Palm Beach shoreline. She is decked up in a dark blue bikini top and slim bottoms with a leopard design and gold accent rings.
The image’s main attraction, though, is a large tribal tattoo that spans the right side of her belly and appears to have originated from her pelvic bone. It joins her bathing suit top and bottom.
Although the exact date of the photo’s capture is unknown, the engagement ring on Boebert’s left hand raises the possibility that it was shot prior to her widely reported divorce in May 2023. Around that time, Boebert and her husband—who has been accused of sexual misconduct—announced their intention to divorce.
The candid tweet went viral very fast, receiving over a million views and generating conflicting reactions on social media.
Boebert’s confidence was applauded by some followers, but the tattoo was criticized by others, who called it “trashy.”
In addition, Boebert’s feelings were called into doubt by the tweet about Matt Gaetz’s and his colleague’s wife’s public sharing of the image. “Well then…there’s that!” the congresswoman retorted on X.
This event comes after another recent social media controversy over Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, who supported Donald Trump in a 2016 video by wearing a bikini with a MAGA motif before joining the House of Representatives in early 2023.
Since then, Luna has taken advantage of the attention garnered online to make fun of transsexual people. She posted a comment on X with the hashtag “MAGA,” saying, “I’m confirming that I have indeed worn swimsuits and you can tell I am biologically a woman.”
