Lester Holt is a hands-on dad, according to his son Stefan Holt.

In the latest issue of Fete Lifestyle Magazine, Stefan, 37, opened up about how — and where — his famous father taught him how to drive a car as a teenager.

“We moved to New York when I was 13, and throughout high school I would wake up early on Saturday mornings to hang out with Dad at 30 Rock when he anchored Weekend Today,” he said.

“In fact, my dad gave me one of my first driving lessons in the parking lot at MSNBC,” Stefan added. “I only remember hitting one curb.”

Stefan, like his father, is a journalist. He currently serves as a news anchor for WMAQ-TV, the Chicago owned-and-operated station of NBC.

According to Stefan, he was never initially interested in “heading down the TV path” until he was in college at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.

“One afternoon in between classes, I was flipping channels in my dorm and landed on Channel 32, the campus TV station,” he told Fete Lifestyle Magazine. “I recognized one of my classmates anchoring the news. I thought to myself, ‘Hey I know all about TV stations. I could do that.’ “

“Several days later, I signed up to work at the station. My first job was running cameras and floor directing,” Stefan added. “Eventually, I auditioned to be the anchor and got the gig. I was officially bitten by the news bug.”

About “a semester later,” he declared a second major in broadcast journalism, Stefan told Fete Lifestyle Magazine.

“I can’t remember the precise moment that I told my father about changing career paths, but I do remember him saying, ‘Yeah I had a funny feeling you were going to do that,’ ” he joked.

“From day one, he has been a constant support and my go-to confidant for advice on how to navigate our profession,” the news anchor continued.

“He’s my mentor on being a great journalist, but also my example on how to be a great dad,” added Stefan, who shares three kids with his wife, Morgan Holt.
